The
Lathe Ledger, February, 2008 Edition
Dear Reader,
This is a short-version newsletter to update you on my changed schedule, which,
as you know is “not written in stone”.
The March Easter Parade of Fine Arts and Crafts, in
Ocean City
,
New Jersey
has been cancelled, and rescheduled for November.
I’m hoping that I can arrange my schedule to allow me to
participate in that one, Nov. 15-16, but I’ll have to let you know later
about that.
Also, the Delaware Museum of Natural History show, scheduled for
May 17-18 has been cancelled.
The Crafts in Winter
show has been added to my schedule.
It is THIS SATURDAY, Feb. 16, at the Convention Hall in
Cape May
,
New Jersey
, from 10AM to 5PM. I’ll be
one of 42 illustrious purveyors of fine wonderment, whose creations must
be seen in person, and caressed cherishingly, to obtain the full benefit
of the occasion. Come.
See. Touch.
Here’s my updated schedule, which you can glue right over top of
the previous one (I mean, after all, it’s a refrigerator - what
difference would a little glue make?):
Feb. 16 - Crafts in Winter –
Convention Hall,
Cape
May, NJ, 10-5
April
26-27 - "
Delaware
's Best" Art Show and
Sale

, 9-5 & 9-3
May
10 - Open Studio Tour all over

County
, including my shop! (9-5)
June
28 - Canal Day,
Chesapeake City
,
Md.
, 9-5
July
26-27 - Art Festival at Loveladies,
Long Beach Island
,
NJ
, 10-6 & 9-5
August
16-17 - Art Show, Havre de Grace, MD, 10-5
September
20-21 - Artsfest,
Solomons
Island
,
Md.
, 10-5
October
11-12 - Colorfest, Thurmont, Md., 9-5
There are a sprinkling of shows that haven’t been filtered into
my schedule yet, but likely will. I’m
still working on my web site update, but you can always access www.lathe-meister.com,
before, during, and after the update, to keep accurate progress on my
travels.
Update on the sea urchins: I
turned all three that are in my stock, using Lilac wood for all the
finials, which give them a stunningly attractive appearance.
Of course, that’s just me talking, so you’re welcome to add
your two cents of balancing testimony.
I also have a few pen and pencil sets of the ‘push’ variety, as
opposed to ‘twist’. The
pens have a “Parker” style insert, and the pencils have 0.5 mm. lead
in them.
And I have increased my supply of toothpick holder and mini-tool
key rings.
Of course, I’m always adding something else to my inventory,
which is much better appreciated in person, rather than over the computer
screen. So, come, see me!

The
Lathe Ledger, April, 2008 Edition
Dear Reader,
To keep you appropriately updated on the things
that matter in life, here’s a brief synopsis of The Lathe-meister’s
activities.
American Craftworks,
189 Main St.
,
Annapolis
,
Md.
, is hosting woodturning
demonstrations every weekend in April.
This may hold casual interest for you, and make it a worthy venture.
However, it is critically important for you to know that The
Lathe-meister will be sharing the demonstration with another woodturner THIS
SATURDAY ONLY, April 5, from
10AM to 4PM. So, naturally, you
should endeavor to come, watch the chips fly, and see creativity in all its
glory! The location is half way
between
State Circle
and the dock, right down town. We’ll
be right in front of the store, probably on the sidewalk, and if we’re
lucky, maybe even blocking traffic!
While I’m in
Annapolis
, The Gail Piazza Studio & Gallery is having a close out sale. Her
lease has expired, and she’ll be temporarily without space, so if you
cannot visit
Annapolis
, but can visit Elkton, here’s a rare opportunity to buy art on sale!
Put a big circle around May 10, which is universally known as the day
before Mother’s Day. That’s
the date of this year’s Open Studio Tour, hosted by the Cecil County Arts
Council (www.cecilcountyartscouncil.org).
I’m #15 on the tour, but you can make me number one in your heart.
Here’s my entire updated schedule, as it exists thus far in my
